This month I’m sharing more of my summer fashion staples. I’m a creature of habit when it comes to clothing and accessories, so the items I picked are ones I buy again and again each year. I look for comfort and versatility whether I’m making an investment in an item, or bargain shopping at Target and TJ Max.
I have to say, I wasn’t sure what kind of a response I would get from last month’s fashion post since fashion isn’t necessarily my forte. So, I was blown away when I heard from all the women who ended up buying the items I highlighted. I’m so thankful to everyone who has been following my little blog, and for all the encouraging feedback. This whole process has been a lot of fun!
I hope you all enjoy my July Fashion Picks!
- Tom’s WedgesI LOVE TOMS shoes! First of all, incase you haven’t heard, for every pair you buy, TOMS donates a pair to a child in need. Not a used pair… a brand new pair. Seriously? This really is an incredible concept for a company, and they are always finding new ways to improve the lives of others. Check out the TOMS website to learn more! Second, they are so stinkin (terrible adjective for shoes) comfortable! I can walk around in these adorable wedges all day without thinking about my feet. So, basically, this one pair of shoes will make you taller, more comfortable, and an all around better person. Don’t you love multitasking?
- Target Totes and Beach BagsEvery summer I pick out one of Target’s large totes to help lug around all my mommy essentials. This particular one works great as an overnight bag, beach bag, or carry on. I have this weird thing about zippers… for some reason I just never zip them (unless they’re of the “fly” variety). It seems like such an added obstacle, so unless I plan on checking one onto an airplane, I never buy bags that have them.
- Hudson Jeans Cuffed Shorts I’m not sure how long Hudson Jeans has been making this style, but I’ve been wearing them for years. I actually have 3 pair in 3 different sizes thanks to my ever changing baby making body. The fabric has a bit of stretch for a flattering fit, without the potential of getting stretched out by the end of the day. I also love the mid-rise waist which guards against the dreaded “muffin top”!
- Sun Dresses from Target Another lovely Target pick this month: Sun dresses. All of them! Like the Hudson Jeans shorts, they are a staple in my summer wardrobe. You can throw one on with flip flops for a day out running errands, or pair one with strappy sandals for an easy date night outfit.
- Rag & Bone Wide Brim Wool Fedora Ok, so this picture is not the greatest, but you get the idea. I’ve always loved wearing fedora hats in the summer to keep the sun off my face, but the wide brim on this one definitely does a better job shielding my neck and chest. Some people refuse to wear hats because they don’t think they look good in them. I say: 1. Premature wrinkles don’t look great either. And, 2. Maybe you just haven’t found the right hat yet. Get out there and try some on. Plus, you don’t have to make an investment to find a great hat. Check out the adorable (and affordable) wide brim hats Target has to offer!
